A mother of two, Mrs. Balikis Adeyemo, needs N8m for a heart surgery in India.
Adeyemo, who was a trader before her illness, has been diagnosed with vascular heart disease and dilated cardiomyopathy.
A medical report by the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, signed by a Consultant Cardiologist, simply identified as Prof. Mbakwem, stated that Adeyemo “presented at the emergency room of this hospital on the 11th of October 2016. She has as a case of biventricular heart failure secondary to dilated cardiomyopathy.”
Her husband, Mr. Adetokunbo Adeyemi, said an assessment of the medical report from Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, India, showed that the family would have to raise N8m for her surgery.
Adeyemo, who could barely breathe as she spoke to our correspondent, pleaded with well-meaning Nigerians to come to her aid, adding that the family had sold all their properties to fund her tests and treatment.
“I am appealing to Nigerians to please save my life; I am in pain all the time. I sweat even when the weather is cold. My condition has made us wretched than it met us.
“My children have been out of school since the beginning of my health challenge in 2014. Please Nigerians, help me so I can live a normal life again. Please save my children from becoming motherless,” Adeyemo pleaded.
