Imagine this scenario, your son/daughter is sitting beside you on the coach and he/she is sex-texting right there and you do not have an inkling of what he/she is doing; even when you can view his/her SMS.

Therefore, parents need to get acquainted with the language used by their children to be able to succeed at the role of proper parenting, particularly in our climes where good family names are held in high esteem.

Here, we present to you a list by CNN’s correspondent, Kelly Wallace, who compiled popular acronyms widely used by teens on the Internet, various social media platforms and texting apps.

19) TDTM- Talk dirty to me.

20) 8 -Oral sex.

22) IPN- I’m posting naked.

25) DOC- Drug of choice.

26) TWD- Texting while driving.
