Watch The First Restaurant Where All The Chefs Are HIV positive (video)

Gone are those days when HIV patients were stigmatized. They are coming out bolder, healthy and living longer years. Thanks to many scientific discoveries and anti retro viral drugs (ARV). They are becoming more assertive and doing great stuffs. Do you know that there exists a restaurant in Toronto, Canada where all the chefs are HIV positive.

It is the first Restaurant That Has Only HIV-positive Chefs In The Kitchen

Toronto is now home to a new, first-of-its-kind pop-up — the world’s only restaurant where every piece of food is made by someone with HIV. Organizers say the impetus was a recent poll that found that the thought of dining with somebody who’s HIV-positive still paralyzes them with fear.
The survey by Casey House, Canada’s only hospital dedicated to people living with HIV/AIDS, found that nearly half of Canadians wouldn’t eat a meal prepared by someone with the disease, even though health experts say the infection can’t be transmitted that way. To combat the stigma around food prep, Casey House decided it was time to pull a bold stunt.

The pop-up, called June’s Eatery after Casey House’s co-founder June Callwood, launched this week. It advertised two four-course dinners made by 14 HIV-positive chefs for $125 — one yesterday, the other today. Both of them sold out.
Organizers told The Guardian that they even welcome “negative coverage,” though, as the “entire point of the pop-up” is “exposing the ignorance and blame around HIV and AIDS.” They did their best to test people, too — organizers say they mailed jars of soup prepared by the HIV-positive team to newsrooms “across Canada.” It seems they didn’t really care what became of that soup in a box, as long as it challenged media to “examine their own beliefs” before writing about the event.

Pakistani Wife Kills 17 Relatives in Failed Bid To Kill Husband With Poisoned Milk

A newly married Pakistani woman has been arrested on murder charges after she allegedly poisoned her husband’s milk and it inadvertently killed 17 relatives, a senior police officer says.
Key points:
The woman says she got the poisonous substance from her boyfriend, who she kept seeing after her marriage

She mixed the substance in her husband’s milk but he did not drink it

The mother-in-law spotted the milk and made it into a yogurt-based drink she served to 27 people

Aasia Bibi, 21, was married against her will to a relative in September in a village in the eastern Punjab province.
District Police Chief Sohail Habib Tajak said the woman obtained a poisonous substance from her boyfriend, Shahid Lashari, last week and mixed it in milk for her husband, who refused to drink it.
But Ms Bibi’s mother-in-law later used the tainted milk to make a traditional yogurt-based drink and served it to 27 members of her extended family, who fell unconscious and were hospitalised.
Seventeen people died and 10 were being treated in a hospital, he said.
Chief Tajak said a judge allowed police to question Ms Bibi for two weeks over the deaths to determine whether it was Ms Bibi’s decision to kill her husband by poisoning him, or if her boyfriend had incited her to do it.
“This incident took place last week and our officers have made progress by arresting a woman and her lover in connection with this murder case, which was complicated and challenging for us,” he said.
The Police Chief said Ms Bibi was not happy with her husband and wanted to return to her parents’ home.
Ms Bibi appeared before a judge in the city of Muzaffargarh on Tuesday (local time), where she told reporters that she was angered over her parents’ decision to marry her to a man against her will.
“I repeatedly asked my parents not to marry me against my will as my religion, Islam, also allows me to choose the man of my choice for marriage but my parents rejected all of my pleas and they married me to a relative,” she said.

Ms Bibi said her love affair with her boyfriend continued after she got married.
She said she had warned her parents that she could go to any extent to get out of her marriage, but they refused to allow her to get a divorce.
Ms Bibi said her boyfriend gave her a poisonous substance, which she mixed in her husband’s milk, but he did not drink it.
Her mother-in-law spotted the glass of milk and she mixed it in the traditional yogurt-based drink and served it to 27 people.
Ms Bibi expressed remorse over the deaths, saying her target was only her husband.
Chief Tajak said police were trying to trace and arrest all those who were aware of the woman’s plot aimed at killing her husband.
He said Mr Lashari had also confessed to supplying a poisonous substance to the woman.
Many parents in Pakistan arrange marriages for their daughters against their will, but such incidents are rare.

Watch as President Obama was summoned for jury duty but he was not chosen (video)

Can you imagine summoning a former African President to perform a civic responsibility and he was not chosen?

Imagine summoning former military President Ibrahim Babngida or Chief Obasanjo to perform a civic responsibility and he was not chosen?

Heaven will fall

IBB was summoned to appear before Oputa panel, he refused to answer. He actually went to court to stop the implementation of the report. That singular action put a nail on the coffin of that noble objective. Nigerian former leaders are big men though.

But in a saner country, the 44th President of USA was summoned, he showed up. If he had served on the panel, he would have been paid $17.20 entitled to him. Imagine that.
Read the full gist below:

Former President Barack Obama, free of a job that forced him to move to Washington for eight years, showed up to a downtown Chicago courthouse for jury duty on Wednesday morning.
The 44th president’s motorcade — considerably shorter than the one he had when he lived in the White House — left his home in the Kenwood neighborhood on the city’s South Side and arrived at the Richard J. Daley Center shortly after 10 a.m.
Obama — wearing a dark sport coat and dress shirt, but without a tie — waved to people who gathered outside after hearing reports that he would be reporting for jury duty.
Angel Martinez, who also had been summoned for jury duty, shared a video of the former president shaking hands with the crowd. He captioned the tweet: “OBAMA! Jury duty & I just shook hands with the best president ever!!”

Presumably, like other would-be jurors, Obama began his service by watching a decades-old video in which a much younger Lester Holt, who was a local news anchor in Chicago in the 1980s and 90s, explains the ins and outs of jury duty.
CBS Chicago reports that his stint on jury duty was short-lived.
By lunchtime, a judge had determined that the panel of potential jurors Obama was a part of would not be needed, and they were dismissed.
The former leader of the free world should still be eligible to receive the $17.20 a day that jurors are paid for performing their civic duty.
Obama is the highest-ranking former public official to be called to jury duty in Chicago. CBS Chicago reports Obama was previously called for jury duty at the Bridgeview Courthouse in January 2010, in the middle of his first term, but was excused because of his busy schedule at the time.
He is not the first former president to be called to jury duty. In 2015, former President George W. Bush answered the call in Dallas. He was not selected to sit on a jury. And in 2003, former President Bill Clinton reported for jury duty in federal court in New York City. He also was not selected.
Nor is he the first famous Chicagoan to be called to jury duty. In 2004, Oprah Winfrey was on a Chicago jury that convicted a man of murder. A decade later, Lawrence Tureaud, better known as Mr. T, showed up to a suburban Chicago courthouse for jury duty, sporting his usual Mohawk, but without the gold chains for which he is known. But despite the more subdued outfit, Mr. T was not chosen to sit on a jury.

Rev Martin Luther King was involved in drunken & sex orgies, FBI released files

Dr Martin Luther King was a civil right activist that fought for the emancipation of rights of black Americans. He was celebrated in USA and a public holiday was given in his honor.

The FBI in a series of leaked files attempted to smear the image of this clergy man, 49 years after his assassination  in 1968. One does not understand the rational behind it, as BBC reports

Dr King was assassinated three weeks after the dossier was written

A secret FBI dossier on civil rights leader Martin Luther King alleges that he had a string of affairs and other “sexual aberrations”, as well as links to the Communist Party.

It is dated just three weeks before Dr King’s assassination in April 1968.

The file was released in a tranche of documents relating to the assassination of John F Kennedy released on Friday.

Mr Kennedy is not referenced in the file and it is not clear why it was kept secret for almost 50 years.

There is no evidence that any of the claims in the report were verified.
Its cover shows it was assessed in 1994 by an FBI task force on the JFK assassination, which concluded none of the document should be released.

Many of the allegations contained in the paper appear to be reports of private conversations between others, or hearsay reported third-hand.

One allegation, that King had a mistress in California with whom he fathered a child, was attributed to “a very responsible Los Angeles individual in a position to know”.

Among its other accusations are that:

Dr King was surrounded by advisers with strong links to the Communist Party USA

His statements were always subject to approval by the alleged communist sympathisers

He was a secret supporter of communism, “a whole-hearted Marxist”

His organisation, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, set up a “tax dodge” to raise funds for its activities

Dr King took part in “drunken sex orgies” and coerced young women to participate

He had love affairs with at least four women, including folk singer Joan Baez

The list of alleged indiscretions would likely have been deeply problematic for the civil rights leader if it had been made public in 1968.
Much of the document aims to paint Dr King as a tool of the communist party

The paper paints Dr King in an extremely negative light, despite his receipt of the Nobel Peace Prize and his contribution to passing the Civil Rights Act four years previously.

It is not entirely clear why the dossier was commissioned. But several pages of the 20-page document are concerned with Mr King’s upcoming “Washington Spring project” which was scheduled for the coming months.

It warned that despite Dr King’s history of calling for peaceful protest, “the combined forces of the communist influence and the black nationalists advocating violence give the ‘Washington Spring Project’ a potential for an extremely explosive situation.”

Dr King was killed before the planned march.

A ‘slow thinker’ with ‘abnormal’ sexual preferences

Despite Dr King’s historical reputation as a skilled speaker, the FBI file claimed that other advisers approved everything Mr King said.

“King is such a slow thinker he is usually not prepared to make statements without help from someone,” it reads.

Linking Dr King to communism, it claimed:

“King is a whole-hearted Marxist who has studied it (Marxism), believes in it and agrees with it, but because of his being a minister of religion, does no dare to espouse it publicly.”

And in another part says: “During the early 1960s, the CPUSA [the communist party] was striving to obtain a Negro-labor coalition to achieve its goals in this country… Martin Luther King, Jr, and his organisation were made to order to achieve these objectives.”
Dr King’s alleged sexual misconduct is tacked on to the end of the file

At a February 1968 workshop to train ministers in urban leadership, it is alleged: “One Negro minister in attendance later expressed his disgust with the behind-the scene drinking, fornication, and homosexuality that went on at the conference.”

“Several Negro and white prostitute[s] were brought in from the Miami area. An all-night sex orgy was held with these prostitutes and some of the delegates.”

The document alleged that Dr King also engaged in a “two-day drunken sex orgy” in Washington in January 1964.

“When one of the females shied away from engaging in an unnatural act, King and other of the males present discussed how she was to be taught and initiated in this respect,” it added.

“It is a fact that King not only regularly indulges in adulterous acts but enjoys the abnormal by engaging in group sexual orgies.”

Watch A Man Flies Over South Africa In A Chair (video)

These “Oyinbos” take a lot of risk. The British man travels to Johannesburg, South Africa to try a stunt he has planned for a long time.

It was like a scene from a movie, a man floating thousands of feet above the ground on a lawn chair.
The British man flew over Johannesburg using a chair attached to 100 helium balloons.
Tom Morgan flew 15.5 miles across South Africa last week, reaching heights of up to 8,000 feet. An adventure he had been planning for months.

After this, the adventure company plans to organised a helium balloon race in Africa.
The group called the Adventurists, flew some 24 kilometres for two hours.

Morgan said “It was a fairly indescribable feeling, wafting across Africa on a cheap camping chair dangling from a load of balloons,”
He says he had to run some tests before the attempt. African nation of Botswana was the perfect location.
“It’s going to be a three-day, long distance, floating adventure under party balloons on a chair… probably the silliest air race,” he added.
Morgan spent two days inflating 100 balloons ahead of the “magical” flight.
He admitted feeling “somewhere between terrifying and elated” as he slowly rose in the air.
“The flight accelerated very quickly as the balloons drifted towards the inversion layer of the atmosphere — where the temperature drops” he said.
After several failed attempts over the course of a few weeks, Morgan and his team decided to relocate to Johannesburg, South Africa.
Having floated for two hours, Morgan lowered himself back down where his teammate greeted him safely on the ground.
After this, the adventure company plans to organised a helium balloon race in Africa.

Fake news’ is Collins Dictionary’s word of the year 2017

President Donald Trump

In America, the commonly used word in the year is “Fake news” popularized by USA President Donald Trump. He targeted many major media houses like CNN that were against him

After a U.S. presidential campaign dominated by charges of fake news, Collins Dictionary has designed the term the Collins Word of the Year 2017.
The word — two words actually — will be added to the next print edition of the dictionary.
Collins said Thursday the use of the term rose 365 percent last year. It is defined as “false, often sensational, information disseminated under the guise of news reporting.”
The term has been picked up by U.S. President Donald Trump, who routinely characterizes critical reports as “fake news” in his tweets.
Collins’ head of language content Helen Newstead said the term “fake news” has been inescapable this year.
She said it has contributed to “the undermining of society’s trust in news reporting.”

Watch the coach of a Football caught sniffing cocaine (video)

Chris Foerster, The coach of American football club, Miami Dolphins has resigned after a video surfaced of him snorting white substance suspected of Cocaine before a meeting.
The video first surfaced on Facebook on monday morning before going viral after being posted on Reddit.
“I am resigning from my position with the Miami Dolphins and accept full responsibility for my actions,” Foerster said
in a statement. “I want to apologize to the organization and my sole focus is on getting the help that I need with the support of my family and medical professionals.”
However, it is clear Foerster was working with an NFL team at the time of the video.
He makes multiple references to going to a meeting before and after snorting the white powder, which has not been identified but appears to be some sort of a drug.
“It’ll be a while before we can do this again. Because I know you have to keep that baby,” Foerster says. “But I think about you when I do it. I think about how much I miss you. How high we got together. How much fun it was.”
The Dolphins said they were made aware of the video Sunday.
“We were made aware of the video late last night and have no tolerance for this behavior,” the team said in a statement.
“After speaking with Chris this morning, he accepted full responsibility and we accepted his resignation effective immediately. Although Chris is no longer with the organization, we will work with him to get the help he needs during this time.”
Foerster joined the club in 2016 under head coach Adam Gase.

See Why Neymar Asks UEFA To Expel Barcelona From Champions League

Neymar “asked Uefa to expel Barcelona from the Champions League” after they failed to honour a £23million loyalty payment, according to reports in Spain.
AS believe the Brazilian star was advised by his lawyers to take the extreme action.
Neymar joined Paris Saint-Germain from Barca in a world-record shattering £198million deal this summer, clearly on bad terms.
However, despite the player’s plea, Uefa were reportedly quick to snub the Brazil forward’s request.
Meanwhile, director at the La Liga giants, Raul Sanllehi, has officially left the club.

Sanllehi played a vital role in bringing Neymar to Spain four years ago, but has now left.
Spanish newspaper Marca claim he has done so “on his own volition” but was “upset and frustrated” when Neymar stormed out of the Nou Camp.
Big-spending PSG also face a Champions League dilemma of their own, according to El Pais.
The Spanish outlet claim the Ligue 1 giants may be forced to sell eight players or face expulsion from Europe’s elite competition over breach of Financial Fair Play regulations.
Angel Di Maria, Javier Pastore, Blaise Matuidi, Lucas Moura, Julian Draxler, Hatem Ben Arfa and Thiago Silva are now expected to leave in January.

Nigeria is the first African country to qualify for World Cup 2018

Nigeria have become the first African side to book their place at 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ after a 1-0 win over Zambia in Uyo earned them an unassailable lead at the head of Group B.
Alex Iwobi repeated his feat of being the thorn in the Zambians’ side, once again finding himself on the scoresheet against the Chipolopolo. Having scored in the first Group B game between the sides, he came off the bench in the second half to end Zambian hopes of creating a final day climax on 6 November, instead seeing the Super Eagles book a spot at their sixth finals.
Seen by many as the toughest group of the continent’s five qualifying tables, Nigeria have been dominant, remaining unbeaten throughout and only dropping points thanks to a Cameroonian penalty on the road in Yaounde. The 4-0 win a few days earlier against the reigning African champions was a particular highlight.
With a rich youthful streak through the side, seeing the likes of Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Moses Simon score crucial goals throughout qualifying, there will be something of a fresh feel to the side who have only missed one tournament – Germany 2006 – since their debut in 1994.
Led by the seasoned John Obi Mikel, who made his belated World Cup debut at Brazil 2014, they will hoping to better their Round of 16 exit from three years ago – the furthest stage they have reached, having also done so in their first two appearances.

Referendum Blues: A tale of Barcelona Fc and Real Madrid Fc

By Muyiwa Olayinka

Real Madrid Player, Benzema
Suarez, Barcelona Player

If someone like Nigerian prophets always do, predicted that Barcelona Fc could play a football match in an empty stadium, many would have said it is not possible.

The reason is not far fetched. Barcelona Fc is one of the successful football club in the whole world. The club is wealthy and paraded galaxy of stars like the “merciless” Lionel Messi, Suarez etc. Barcelona played on Sunday, September 1st 2017 in a closed stadium without not a single fan cheering them to victory. The Santiago Bernabeu and Camp Nou were worlds apart on Sunday. Real Madrid played to a tumultuous crowd filled with fans.

Barcelona FC played its Spanish league game against Las Palmas in a completely empty stadium amid horrific violence in Catalonia. The football club had openly backed an independence referendum, and criticised the Spanish government for trying to stop the vote by force – a move that has left hundreds injured in the state. Its president said that their decision to play the match behind closed doors was made by the club as a way to protest against the government’s actions.

Barca had wanted to postpone their match against Las Palmas amid safety concerns, but were told by Spain’s Professional Football League (LFP) that they would face losing six points if they failed to go ahead with the fixture.

Making a statement of its own, Las Palmas’ players had the Spanish flag embroidered onto their shirts ahead of the match. Barcelona won 3-0.

However, the mood at the Bernabeu was rather different. Up against Espanyol, the only professional Catalan club that has stayed quiet in the lead-up to the referendum, Real Madrid’s fans brought Spain flag and sang songs in support of their nation.
Before the match, supporters were handed out cards with the message “Todos somos España” (“We are all Spain”) and those were held up in the 12th minute amid chants of “Viva España!” (“Long live Spain!”)
Those went on throughout a match in which Madrid did not play well and, at times, it appeared that the team’s problems at home may continue. Prior to this game, Zinedine Zidane’s side had failed to win any of their Liga fixtures at the Santiago Bernabeu so far this term.
Two very good goals by Isco made sure that Los Blancos did end up with a win, however, although Espanyol came close to scoring on several occasions in something of a subdued showing from the home team.
Hundreds of people were hurt in Catalunya after heavy-handed tactics from police forces sent in from all over Spain to halt the referendum for independece, considered illegal by the Spanish state. So far more than 800 are injured in the referendum induced clashes
The violent scenes shocked the nation, and after Barca beat Las Palmas 3-0 in front of an empty Camp Nou, there were protests all over the country, including a massive demonstration in Madrid’s Puerta del Sol.
There is no love lost between Barca and Madrid, of course, but supporters of Los Blancos were keen to show their colours on Sunday. And despite the unseemly scenes in Catalunya earlier in the day provoked by the police, the message from madridistas was clear — they are Spanish and proud of it.
