I won’t stop making sensible music – Adekunle Gold

Barely two years after coming to public consciousness, Adekunle Gold is now occupying a prime position in the music industry. Many of his songs are certified hits and many people actually like him because his music is devoid of lewd lyrics.
He told Sunday Scoop that he is not about to change anytime soon. “It is my personal resolve to keep making clean music. I am not under any pressure whatsoever to change the type of lyrics I sing. I like to pass across messages with my songs. Music is supposed to be a vehicle for social change. If you notice, my songs often dwell on topical issues that people can relate with and learn from. A true hit song is one that people can still enjoy many years after it was recorded. But some songs that were released just last year are no longer relevant or appealing, and that is because they are shallow and not in tune with the times,” he said.
Explaining his love for African attire, Gold said, “I am a proud African and it’s up to me to showcase my culture and let people know more good things about the continent. Whenever I travel, foreigners admire my outfit and some of them even request for the type. It is the way we treat our things that outsiders would also perceive it. I want to implore everyone to give priority to our local products.”

Taking a stroll down memory lane to remember how he met his former YBNL boss, he said, “I met Olamide when I was called upon to design the YBNL logo. I also did some other works for members of the label. After I sang Sade, Olamide heard it and liked it, so we had a discussion and he offered me a deal. I gladly accepted.”
Hinting on the type of woman he likes, Adekunle said, “My ideal girl is someone who is a go-getter. She must know what she wants and be prepared to work for it. I don’t like people who are too laid-back and don’t even have plans for their lives.”

The pal claims he was told by Fashanu, 54, of two contacts who would help with buying “forgotten lands” – plots owned by chiefs that the state were unaware of.
He was allegedly given £23,000 in cash to fix the deal with his “boys”. But when the new “owner” went to claim his land, it is alleged he found it not for sale and not in the hands of local chiefs.
Fash, who once fronted Nigeria’s version of Deal or No Deal, was taken before a superintendent last week to explain himself before being left in a packed pen, police sources said.

Officers are now looking for the other two men said to be involved. It is believed they are still in Nigeria, where the average yearly wage is £1,600 (660,000 Nairi).
Fashanu has agreed to pay the money back, although he denies wrongdoing.

A source close to the former Gladiators presenter said last night: “This is a business deal between friends that has gone south and the police were asked to basically mediate.
“It will all be sorted very quickly. It was just a business deal.”
It is understood Fashanu was released after surrendering his British passport and agreeing to pay back a first instalment of the money.
Sources said he looked to sell some of his cars to raise the cash as he waited for funds from his numerous business interests to clear in his bank account.

He said: “The matter is being resolved. He won’t be charged to court is my understanding.
“We are repaying the money and that should settle this matter.
“The person who made the complaint has been a mutual friend for quite a number of years and we are more interested in keeping that relationship so we are making amends. We hope to do that as soon as we can. It is quite a lot of money so we hope to do it as soon as we can. We want to have this resolved.”
Nigerian police Deputy Inspector General Hyacinth Dagala said: “John Fashanu was arrested on July 17 in connection with an allegation of criminal conspiracy and obtaining the sum of N9,550,000 [Nigerian Naira] under false pretence.
“He was granted administrative bail on July 18 but because of his inability to produce the requisite surety on that day, he remained in detention until July 19 when he was released.”

Osun State: Time To Rupture The Vultures

By Remi Oyeyemi

“You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”
– Abraham Lincoln.

There is no longer any doubt about the fact that the last Seven years in Osun State under Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola have been the years of the locust. They have been the years of rapacity. They have been the years of predation. They have been the years of plunder. They have been the years of parsimony. They have been the years of avidity. Yes, the last seven years in Osun State have been the years of the vultures.

The vultures, let loose by Bourdillon, came, saw and devastated. They came to desecrate, desolate and despoil our land. They came to ravage, raze and ruin our land. They plundered, pillaged and preyed on our people. They have been cold, cunning and calculating. They have been merciless, mean and mingy.

In their trails, comes a crescendo of cloudy dalliance of deliquescent dusts, fouling up our land with its attendant miseries. Yes, miseries of monumental proportions. The psyche of our people were pulverized. Their self respect ripped into ravels. Their dignity mutated into unbearable opprobrium. Their hopes hopped into holes. Their aspirations, discounted.

It has been a season of anomie. It has been a season of sadness all-round. Misery walked our streets in adumbrated regalia of progressivism. Deceit, deception and duplicity became a fundamental official forms of functionality. “Ònà baba ònà” became the metaphor for the unmitigated flogging of our people. It metaphorically encapsulated the destruction of our children’s education.

Read also: A Note To Professor Yemi Osinbajo

Our social milieu became contaminated. Our religious harmony driven into dissonance. Unnecessary tension was generated by a three-quarter-long trouser wearing fundamentalist who sees himself as all knowing. He is stubborn, incorrigible, adamant and recalcitrant. He is obnoxiously arrogant, fatuously foppish and crudely condescending. All these on questionable vision and amoebic ideas that have done more damage to our State, our people and our future.

A man died for the inability to afford a N450.00 medication for asthma because he did not get paid his wages. Teachers were dropping dead in front of their students as a result of hunger deriving from lack of wages. Yet, this confused anchor of misery, called Governor, gallivant all over, revelling in odious glory of white elephant projects dressed in the garb of “educational infrastructure developments.” A convenient conveyor cincture to loot our state and impoverish our land, our children and our future.

Calling himself an Awoist, a monumental, awe-inspiring, grand insult and blasphemy to the memory of the Great Sage, Obafemi Awolowo, he looked the other way as Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) was closed down, showing no concern or any sense of urgency whatsoever. Along with the obnoxious Apostle of “Constituted Authority,” they allow our children to wallow in unmitigated frustration and irritation.

When Aregbesola assumed office as the Governor of Osun State, the performance of our children at WAEC/NECO examination came up as 9th out of 36 states. Today, our State, our children, are at the rung of the ladder in 29th position. Yet, he shamelessly claims that Education in Osun State has improved under him. Unless you’re gifted with a vacuous intellect, or a perfect study in concentrated sadism, failures such as this could not, under any circumstance, be equated with success or progress.

Deprived of appropriate and proportional sense of History, he blew across our land, our State, our milieu, like wrathful whirlwind sweeping down everything precious to us. He destroyed great schools with great traditions and tantalizing trajectories. He turned our schools into caricatures. Our schools, our children and our future became a laughing stock.

Our children now walk the streets and are losing interest in schooling. The teachers have lost motivation in teaching and failures have evidently ensued. Civil servants have been turned into beggars, their dignity driven down the drain. Pensioners who worked all their lives, tired, fatigued and exhausted were treated as goats, repeatedly humiliated. Many of them have died of curable illnesses as a result of non-payment of their entitlements.

Yet, all the Bourdillon sponsored contractors are reportedly getting paid. They take our money to Lagos while our people are dying of hunger. Aregbesola flaunts constructed roads as his “great achievement,” but he forgot that good roads could only be useful for the living not those pummeled to death by hunger resulting from lack of wages.

In their hang-outs in Lagos, in their revelries, where they spend all the money scooped from our treasury, our State, our people, our children, they flagrantly and blatantly exude odious and reeking arrogance. In their debauchery, they engage in twisted temerity, offensive effrontery, damning audacity and abhorrent boldness to make jest of our people and our children, referring to our State as “Osungo”! (Osun State is foolish or Osun People are foolish).

Aregbesola has bankrupted our State. He has bankrupted our people and their businesses. He is trying hard to foreclose the future of our children. There is misery all over the place. There is pain, agony and gnashing of teeth all over the land. Well, when a tragedy transcends weeping, you surrender to giddy laughter.

But while we are at it, 2018 is around the corner. It is time to rupture the vultures. It is time to put an end to our misery. It is time to free our land. It is time to free our State. It is time to free our children and their future. It is time to free our people. It is time to free ourselves.

Our people in Osun State must remember that voting is not enough. We must be prepared to guide and guard our votes. We must be prepared for all the antics of the “Amunisin”, yes, the enslavers. We must be ready to meet them determination for determination, plan for plan, skill for skill, tactic for tactic and strategy for strategy.

We must devise a means to frustrate the use of State apparatus to rig the election. We must be prepared to make it a lifetime regret for anyone or government official attempting to rig the election. We must be ahead of all collaborators. We must send a message that WE ARE THE PEOPLE. And that true power in a democracy resides with us. It is time to rupture the vultures!

“In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility – I welcome it.”

– John F. Kennedy, in his Inaugural Address January 20, 1961

Read this letter a mother wrote to broke ladies

Know this I did not suffer labour pains for 4 days to deliver my son so that he could alleviate you from poverty that is the role of your parents

I did not carry my son for 9 months, struggle through his formative years

Struggle with his father to send him and his siblings to school so that you could demand he buys you expensive gifts. We did not Experience the anxieties of watching him head buried in his books studying for exams. Watched his father offer him words of encouragement as he lay awake wondering if he had been accepted into the University of his choice. His father and I sat there one of the proudest moments we experienced as parents watching him graduate.

Life was never meant to be easy getting a job was the biggest mountain he had to climb.

Do you know how many rejections from employers he received?

Do you know how it broke our hearts when we struggled to find words to keep his spirits up?
I remember the day I received that phone call he had finally made it he both his feet were now firmly on the ground. Then he met you a stunning goddess but to my dismay a woman who did not tire of talking about herself.

A woman who was empty inside a women who responded with ” If you say so” when we spoke about current affairs. I realise now in hindsight your area of expertise was IG , FB & celebrity gossip.

A woman who laughed when I asked her what she hopped to do. You pointed at my son and said “he will take care of me now!”

Who will take care of you? My son ?

I don’t think so. You are not his responsibility. He is not in servitude to pander to your whims.
He was distressed when he came to visit us he told me you wanted better accommodation you were tired of sharing, and you also wanted a car. How could he afford all this when he had just stared working?

You stopped talking to him it was heartbreaking to see his distress.

My son is not the IMF that bails struggling entities like you out of complete financial meltdown. He is trying to make you happy but happiness to you equates to money.

Dear broke women my son is not your ATM.
He owes you nothing, he is not obligated to do

Anything for you. He will do something because he wants to not because he has to or because you give him an ultimatum.
Dear broke women he owes no loyalty to you because all you seek is an opportunity. He is your salvation out of a situation. You don’t love my son you love money.

12 signs you’re having sex with a terrible person

Many people are too blinded by love to realise that their latest squeeze is a terrible individual.
Here are 12 determinants to assure you that it’s time to drop him/her like hot potato:
• S/he doesn’t treat your body with respect. If your partner is fond of making mean comments about your body — whether you’re dressed or naked — know that it’s time to move on.
• It’s all me, me, me. Are you actually enjoying the sex? Are you sufficiently ‘warmed up’ before the deed is done? Does it feel like you’re just a faceless tool in his sex-box? Granted, sometimes we all like to lie back and receive pleasure – but every time? No sir’ee. Good loving is all about mutual enjoyment and mutual effort. If you’re sleeping with someone who is clearly only thinking about him/herself, it’s time to find a lover who takes pleasure in your pleasure.

• Lack of respect. There’s nothing that sucks the fun out of sexy time quite like sleeping with someone who has no respect for you or your boundaries. Mutual respect should be present in and out of the bedroom. S/he should value your time, your opinion, and especially what you say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to. If your bedmate doesn’t respect you, don’t waste precious time and energy trying to prove to them all the reasons why they should.
• They trash talk ex-partners. It’s one thing to bad mouth your ex to your mates over many pints of wine – it’s another thing entirely to slag off ex-partners to the person you’re currently diddling. If your partner badmouths his/her ex, s/he’ll do the same about you one day. Learn!
• Refusal to wear a condom. Men love to give excuses when it comes to condom use. ‘It doesn’t feel as good.’ ‘I can’t do it with a Johnny on.’ Well, nothing is worth being put at risk of STDs or pregnancy, and if they’re cool to expose you (and themselves) to that, it’s time to say bye-bye. If your bed partner shudders at communicating about sexual safety, back away slowly and go find someone capable of interacting like an adult.
• They’re selfish. Selfishness is an abhorrent characteristic. If the person you’re shagging constantly puts their needs before yours and seems hell bent on milking everything they can out of each of your encounters, they’re never going to make you feel anything other than unloved and under-appreciated. A good person wants to do things for the person they are with – not just greedily lap up all the love and affection you give them. Beware of those that suck you dry. Rather, seek someone that wants to give back.
• They’re easily offended. If someone makes you feel bad about something you can’t control – chances are they’re a rotten egg. Drop a couple of human stink bombs and exit their bedroom quick smart.
• You feel degraded. Many enjoy a playful spank or a consensual spot of throat grabbing when the moment takes you, but anything that leaves you feeling degraded is a firm No-No. Violence, name calling, humiliation. Do not stand for it. Any action that leaves you feeling degraded, that you didn’t explicitly ask for or agree to, should be taken as a huge call to flee the scene as fast as your legs can carry you.
• Zero affection. Sure, some of the best sex is animalistic, but if the person you’re sleeping with refuses to shows you any affection, chances are s/he is a loser. Sex is the most intimate thing you can do. If you’re left feeling starved of affection, or like you’ve been used – listen to your instincts. They rarely lie. If the person you’re getting naked with doesn’t want to be sweet to you and make sure you’re having a nice time – ask yourself what are you really doing this for?
• Hit it and quit it. If your lover is all ‘wham, bam, see ya later,’ and that’s an arrangement that leaves you feeling bummed out, it’s high time you called it off. Sex should make you feel on top of the world. Not as though you’ve been used and dismissed.
• They lie to you. Are you being lied to? If the person you’re sleeping with has no qualms with looking into your eyes and telling you a barefaced lie, you need to brush aside this bad human immediately. People who lie are the worst. If someone lies once, they will lie again. Don’t expose yourself to a life full of uncertainty, worry and wondering – it’ll eat you up inside.
• Manipulation. The problem with masters of manipulation is that they’re hard to spot. Warning signs include guilt-trips, assumptions about you and what you’re up-for, and telling you ex-partners used to willingly do what they’re asking of you. If someone’s doing their best to make you feel as though you owe them something, we suggest you stop sharing your bed with them immediately.

This Is For The Women Who Aren’t Afraid

By Shani Jay

This is for the women who aren’t
afraid.
The women who will get up in
the middle of a restaurant and
leave if they change their mind.
The women who recognize their
power, and aren’t afraid to show
it.
The women who will never
shrink their own light to make
others feel comfortable.
The women who have no trouble
walking away from situations
that do nothing but bring them
down, and cause their heart to
ache.
The women who will tell that
man harassing them in the street
to fuck off.
The women who wear their
hearts on their sleeves, knowing
that they might get burned.
The women who will leave any
relationship that isn’t serving
them, in spite of the pain.
The women who wake up every
day and unapologetically chase
down their dreams. Even when it
seems like the current is strong
against them.
The women who will reach out
and speak to strangers like she’s
known them all her life.
The women who seek out their
gifts and shower the world with
them, all in the hope of making a
difference to someone,
somewhere.
The women who aren’t afraid to
go first. To speak first. To get up
and dance first. To tell someone
“I love you ,” first.
The women who stand up tall,
proud of who they are,
comfortable in their own skin.
The women who find the courage
to bare their beautiful colors for
all the world to see. Even when
others try to tear them down, or
make them feel small.
The women who dress for
themselves. The women who
wear whatever the hell makes
them happy, without seeking
approval.
The women who face obstacles,
adversity and oppression every
day, but find the strength to rise
above it and keep on pushing
through.
The women who will always do
what’s right, even when it’s hard.
The women who will stand up
for themselves, and for you, at all
costs. Because their hearts only
have room for what’s right .
The women who are not
fearless.
The women who are riddled with
fears, but will never allow that
fear to hold them back in any
way.
This is for the women who
choose not to be afraid.
This is for me.
And this is for you.

See a Warri church marchmaking women with men (video)

The Founder and General Overseer of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, in Warri, Delta State, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, shocked his congregation when his prophecy took a different turn as he called out single men and women in his church and asked them to select their partners from among themselves.

During the selection, long queues emerged behind the men who came out as single ladies, scrambling for their hands in marriage.

In a video already gone viral, the man of God summoned a lady and asked if she was married and when she replied in the negative, the pastor ordered her to choose any man she likes in the auditorium.

The woman is then seen searching through the congregation to see a man of her choice.

When the lady could not find any man, the man of God concluded that there was a demonic mark upon her preventing her prospective husband from locating her, and demanded from her how many men have slept with her.

He said, “Chop and go. How many men don chop you?”

The pastor eventually summoned all single men to file out and spinsters to line up behind the men of their choice.

Saying, “If anybody wants to marry anyone here come and touch the person – any person you like.

“We cannot allow women to be like this forever. I want to marry for these people.
“Look at your back. I give you people from now till month end to screen your wives. Nobody should go and meet for nightooo.”

He promised to sponsor the mass wedding of the would-be couples.

Morata moves to Chelsea in a club record £60m transfer

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of 24-year-old Alvaro Morata from Spain to London.

Morata, who is left with medicals and personal terms to complete the deal is the Pre,mier League’s fourth signing of the summer, after goalkeeper Willy Caballero, defender Antonio Rudiger and midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Morata scored 20 goals last season after rejoining Real from Juventus.

He won La Liga and the Champions League with Real Madrid last season with most of his appearances  as a substitute.

Morata could replace Spain team-mate Diego Costa, who says he has been told by manager Antonio Conte that he is no longer in Chelsea’s plans.

Click this link below to see the complete story:

http://9jafans.com/2017/07/20/chelsea-sign-alvaro-morata-club-record-60m-transfer/

Manchester United had been interested in Morata prior to signing Everton striker Romelu Lukaku for an initial £75m. Curiously, Chelsea were also in the run to bring back their former player before the Belgian opted to re-unite with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

“I’m going to the team managed by the coach who has placed the most faith in me, and that’s great for me,” Morata told AS on Wednesday

Morata joined Real Madrid’s youth team in 2008 and was handed his senior debut aged 18 in 2010.

The 6ft 3in striker moved to Italy in 2014, scoring 27 goals in two years for Juventus, winning both Serie A and the Coppa Italia twice and playing in the 2015 Champions League final.

Real exercised a buy-back option in June 2016 to take him back to the Bernabeu.

Morata has won 20 caps for Spain, scoring nine goals, since his international debut in 2014.

Statistics

  • Morata’s conversion rate last season was 27%, the highest of any striker to score 10 or more goals in La Liga in 2016-17; he scored 15 goals from 55 shots.
  • His goals won Real Madrid 13 points in La Liga last season; only Cristiano Ronaldo won more for the side with 15.

The jury is already out on whether Morata will be able to seamlessly slot into the striking role at the Champions.

Some are of the view that the aggression and toughness of unwanted top scorer, Diego Costa are missing in the rather subtle Spaniard. Others, on the other hand contend that Morata’s conversion rate puts him among the best strikers out there.

As shown over the years, it is certain that the Spanish game will improve tremendously under Antonio Conte. The Italian is good at this -One only need to look at Nigeria’s Victor Moses
